To help raise money for the family of beloved Kirk Wilson, who was lost in the aftermath of the tragic shooting at The BPM Festival in Mexico, Toronto’s entertainment community is offering its support by hosting a fundraising event in Kirk’s honour on Monday March 6th, 2017 at REBEL.
DOORS OPEN AT 7PM.
Note: The owners, staff and promoters fromToronto's major nightlife industry groups who Kirk worked for are coming together for this one: INK Entertainment (REBEL, Cabana, Weslodge, Patria, etc), John Doe Group (EFS, The Addisons, OMAW) and CAPTURE (Everleigh, Maison, Portland Variety, etc). I've never been more proud of our industry for this one.
This is in addition to a GoFundMe campaign that tremendously surpassed an incredible $125,000 goal, now sitting $135,000. The fundraiser at REBEL will donate 100% of all sales raised from the event directly into an education trust fund set up for Kirk’s two children, ages 6 and 7.
It was Kirk’s dream to provide his kids with the best education possible, so that they could have the opportunity to pursue all that they wanted.
Kirk was a longtime member of INK Entertainment’s (Owners and operators of REBEL) security team. All staff working at the event will be donating their time and tips to the fund, and there will be a silent auction that guests can participate in.
Guests can also expect world-class entertainment and musical acts throughout the evening.*
Kirk was a loving father and husband, as well as an adored member of Toronto’s nightlife and entertainment industry. Kirk will be remembered by the community as someone who not only protected the lives of the thousands of people who attended events that he worked, but who also treated everyone he met with respect and kindness.
Tickets are $35 for this occasion and Ticketmaster has generously waived all service fees for this event.
*p.s. I'm totally randomly putting videos of SEAN PAUL & NELLY FURTADO two world class entertainers who worked with Kirk in this announcement. Get ready, because this will be big. And it's for the best reason ever.
