The Power In Making A Decision

You know those times when life seems to just shit all over you, in almost every aspect? Yeah...I'm in one of those cycles. But I actually find myself in a better mood than I have been in a long time.

Situations that even a couple years ago would have sent me in a familiar spiral of depression, self doubt, self hate, self harm & self sabotage...just have me shaking my head and feeling happy, knowing that I CAN and WILL get through this.

I guess the reason why is because I decided to make a change in my life. I made a decision in who I am, what I am and how my life will be. Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it. I firmly believe that.

I made a decision to be happy. I made a decision that for EVERY negative that comes at me, I will find a positive in it. I made a decision to see the good in everything, even when it seems like there can be no good from it. I made a decision to be a POSITIVE force for change in this world. And change starts with yourself.

Where before I would feel panicked and unsure, I now feel calm and confident, because I know there's no running from your problems...or yourself.

'Man is not the creature of circumstances, circumstances are the creatures of men.' — Benjamin Disraeli

We create our own realities. We feed the things we focus on. No matter how bad things get, just remember that in every setback, there is a setup, for a step forward.

There's nothing new under the sun, life and time are cyclical. Not linear. There's nothing you are going through, that someone, somewhere hasn't been through and came out of the better for it.

There's nothing you are feeling that someone, somewhere hasn't felt. We aren't alone and despite the programming that's out there, "creation" is a good thing.

We just have to believe and make it so. We just have to make a decision to be better, do better and we will become better.

I'm going through it right now, ya'll...and I still couldn't be happier, because I made a decision to be. Have a great weekend!
